Reactivating a Chapter

Reactivating an inactive or suspended NEHS chapter can be a vital step in fostering a community of literary excellence and academic achievement within a school.

By reinstating the chapter, students regain opportunities to engage in meaningful literary activities, develop leadership skills, and collaborate on service projects that promote the love of language and literature.

A reactivated chapter also provides recognition for students’ academic accomplishments and encourages a culture of intellectual curiosity and creativity. Moreover, it reestablishes the school’s connection to the international NEHS network, enabling students and Chapter Advisors to benefit from awards, grants, and scholarships

Reviving a chapter can reinvigorate school spirit and inspire students to explore the transformative power of literature in their personal and academic lives.

If you are unsure about whether your school may have had an active NEHS chapter in the past, or if you have any questions about the reactivation process, please reach out to nehs@niu.edu.
