The National English Honor Society Honor Roll is a recognition program that celebrates active student members and recognizes students who go above and beyond in their academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to the language arts.
To qualify for the NEHS Honor Roll, students must have made significant contributions to their chapter and shown consistent engagement with the aims of NEHS. These students are not only passionate readers and writers—they are role models who exemplify the Society’s core values: excellence in English, academic integrity, and service.
Honor Roll inductees can apply for a certificate and are highlighted on the NEHS website, where their accomplishments are shared with a worldwide audience. Chapters are encouraged to celebrate these students at year-end ceremonies and through local recognition.
For NEHS members, earning a place on the Honor Roll is a meaningful addition to college applications and scholarship portfolios, and a lasting symbol of their hard work and literary passion.
