Literacy Initiative Grant for Nonprofits and Community Organizations Near You

NEHS is committed to supporting nonprofit and community organizations focused on promoting literacy among children and young people through our Literacy Initiative Grants. Our grants enable these organizations to expand their literacy programs, covering areas such as literature, language, writing, and media, ultimately enriching educational opportunities for youth.

Currently, NEHS provides grants to organizations located in or near Pittsburgh, PA, the site of the Sigma Tau Delta convention, as well as in any other region (across the United States and beyond) where NEHS chapters exist. In addition to financial support, NEHS encourages active student involvement, urging local chapters and schools to directly participate in these literacy initiatives.

Last year’s winners have made a significant positive impact on their communities in vastly different ways. Read more about The Believe Projects in St. Louis, MO, and Eat & Read in New Orleans, LA.

We welcome applications for our Literacy Initiative Grants between September 23 and October 7, 2024, via the NEHS AwardSpring system.

To nominate an organization in your community, please contact Christopher Lockwood, NEHS Director, before September 23, 2024.
