Chapter Awards

Nominate Your Chapter Advisor for the Outstanding Advisor Award!

Past Outstanding Chapter Advisor Recipients (L – R): Cami Badman, Katie Burnett, and Justin Hitchcock.

Behind every thriving National English Honor Society (NEHS) chapter is a dedicated Advisor who inspires, supports, and uplifts students on their literary, academic, and personal development journeys. These educators go above and beyond to create meaningful experiences that foster a love for language, literature, and service.

If your chapter has an exceptional Advisor who deserves recognition, the John L. Manear Outstanding Advisor Award is the perfect opportunity through which to recognize their commitment and passion.

What is the John L. Manear Outstanding Advisor Award?

Named after an educator and NEHS pioneer from Pittsburgh, PA, this prestigious award has celebrated the extraordinary efforts of Chapter Advisors who exemplify excellence in leadership, dedication to their students, and the promotion of NEHS ideals since 2016.

Winning advisors receive:

  • A plaque to commemorate their achievement.
  • A financial award of $500.
  • International recognition through NEHS publications and announcements.

Why Nominate Your Advisor?

Your Advisor’s hard work often happens behind the scenes—planning events, mentoring students, and creating opportunities that make your chapter shine. By nominating them, you:
