NEHS invites all student members and Chapter Advisors to take part in this year’s exciting lineup of winter challenges, grants, and scholarships: each designed to celebrate creativity, leadership, and the power of language to change lives. Whether you’re ready to write, perform, lead, or inspire, there is an opportunity for you this winter.

For Students

NEHS Scholarships: Exploring The Midnight Library

This year’s NEHS Scholarships invite graduating seniors to dive deep into Matt Haig’s The Midnight Library, a novel about choices, regrets, and second chances. Craft a reflective essay using one of the five prompts provided by the NEHS Advisory Council and submit a short video to complete your application.

Monologue Writing & Performance Challenge

Do you love storytelling, drama, or performing? Write and perform an original monologue inspired by the prompt “I Refuse to Be Invisible” and let your passion take center stage. This challenge celebrates creativity, courage, and the power of voice.
